The Take Charge Spring AAU program offers competitive and development-focused athletic opportunities for young athletes in a positive and supportive environment.
Season: Third week of March through late May or early June
Teams: Competitive boys’ and girls’ teams in Grades 4-12
Tournaments: 6 tournaments during the spring season
Practices: Twice per week
Focus: Player development, confidence, teamwork, and love of the game
Take Charge Basketball began in 2015 with a simple mission: to provide a quality basketball experience rooted in positivity, excellent coaching, and a genuine love for the game. We believe basketball should be fun, challenging, and something players want to come back to every day—and we’re passionate about sharing that love with others.
Our goal for every athlete in our program is to help them reach their individual goals. Whether that means making a town travel team, earning a spot on a high school roster, or playing beyond the high school level, we want players to enjoy the process while continuously improving their skills and confidence.
Over the years, we have been intentional about growing only as fast as we can support well. Each Take Charge team is led by coaches who design purposeful practices focused on building confidence and long-term development. As directors, we work closely with our coaching staff and are committed to developing our coaches just as much as our players. Many of our coaches are current varsity coaches or members of high school coaching staffs in the area.
Today, Take Charge proudly hosts boys’ and girls’ teams across multiple age levels. If you are a player looking for a program that truly cares about your development—or a coach looking to join a positive, growth-oriented basketball community—Take Charge is the place for you.
